Biography
Scott Hendricks
Texan Scott Hendricks is one of opera’s most compelling and versatile performers. From Puccini to Sondheim, Verdi to Britten, and Wagner to modern-day composers, Hendricks has always maintained a diverse operatic diary.

In the 2025-26 season, Hendricks makes his title role and house debut in Alban Berg’s Wozzeck at
Staatstheater Braunschweig. He makes his house debut at Die Hamburgische Staatsoper in the
role of König/Präsident in Olga Neuwirth’s world premiere of Monster’s Paradise, directed by
Tobias Kratzer, and he makes yet another role and house debut in the spring of 2026 as Klingsor
in a new production of Richard Wagner’s Parsifal at Semperoper Dresden, conducted by Daniele
Gatti.
2024-25 season highlights include performances of Alberich at La Monnaie de Munt in both
Siegfried and Götterdämmerung. He sang his first performances of Jupiter in Der Liebe der
Danae at Opera Carlo Felice Genova as well as Mamma Agata in Prima La Mamma at Deutsche
Oper am Rhein. He returned to the title role of Sweeney Todd in Barrie Kosky’s new production
at Opéra national du Rhin.

Hendricks has performed with the most prestigious opera houses, festivals and orchestras in
Europe, North America and beyond. These include the Royal Opera House Covent Garden,
Bayerische Staatsoper, l'Opéra national de Paris, Gran Teatre del Liceu, Dutch National Opera,
Komische Oper Berlin, Opernhaus Zürich, Teatro La Fenice, Festival d’Aix-en-Provence, Theater
an der Wien, Bregenzer Festspiele, The Metropolitan Opera, San Francisco Opera, Houston
Grand Opera, Washington National Opera, Canadian Opera Company, Santa Fe Opera, Saito
Kinen Festival, the Mikhailovsky Theatre in St. Petersburg, and many others. Concert and song
repertoire have included performances with the NDR Radio Philharmonic, Kansas City
Symphony, Gewandhaus Orchester, Orchestra Symphonique de Mulhouse, Minnesota
Orchestra, and the Gulbenkian Orchestra in Lisbon.
